Ms. Dou Zhang is the Co-Director of Sasaki’s Shanghai office, initiator of Shanghai Landscape Forum, and USGBC Leadership Award winner. Her dual background in both landscape architecture and architecture along with experience on master planning enable her to carry out grand visions as well as finite details, from landscape to a more integrated environment.
As a visionary and creative designer, Ms. Zhang has designed many award-winning projects in the past 22 years, including Xuhui Runway Park, Jiading Central Park, Baoshan Steel Park, Luohu Public Realm Revitalization, Wilkes-Barre River Common, just to name a few. As a strong advocator of sustainability, Ms. Zhang has led many of her projects to SITES or LEED certifications, including Xuhui Runway Park, the first SITES Gold project in Mainland China; Julong Bay, the first SITES Platinum project in China; and Taizi Town Resort, the first LEED for City Platinum pre-certification project in the world.
Ms. Zhang has served as jury member of many national and international competitions. She has been teaching graduate design studio at Tongji University since 2018.
