Havas/Arnold Worldwide Boston Headquarters
Boston, MA
A Boston-based technology company came to Sasaki seeking a way to connect their office space and culture to the spaces of their clients—restaurants and coffee shops. The experience begins in the coffee shop, where employees and visitors mix at a full-service beverage bar and around the gathering stair.
The stair is an anchor of activity, not only for movement, but to act as a stage for large gatherings and a connector to the second floor, which is dedicated to collaboration, team building, and play, and a roof deck with turf for games and yoga. The diner-inspired layout of this social area includes ample booth seating for use throughout the day and is anchored by a food truck at the far end.
Creating a sense of delight and playfulness within the space was another way to connect to the company culture. From the speakeasy social space to the cozy nook under the stairs, no space was left unconsidered. Even the central meeting block that unifies the space and brings people together in formal and informal settings plays games. Rooms break off from the central block creating meeting booths, phone rooms, and further dividing the workspace into smaller neighborhoods. The result is a dynamic space that brings people together in celebration of the company’s spirit and culture.
