Mauricio (Mo) is a landscape architect who specializes in urban landscape projects and has over 20 years of related professional experience. Mo has participated in the design and construction of a variety of project types, ranging from large-scale urban parks and waterfronts, to municipal landscape spaces, to corporate site design projects. His previous professional background also includes experience as a civil engineer, so he brings an interdisciplinary approach to much of his landscape practice. Mo has strong commitment to quality, excels at working in collaborative environments, and has significant experience in working on challenging and demanding urban sites.
Mo leads landscape design teams through multiple phases of design and has worked with an array of local, national and international clients. He has worked on various urban parks and plazas that dramatically improve public space; designed and implemented innovative stormwater management strategies; and incorporated interactive, sustainable features into his landscape work. Mo also often plays a role in many urban design and master planning projects. His work explores sustainable solutions for open space systems and landscape networks, ranging from innovative public space planning to contextual site design for dense urban sites.
Mo holds a Masters of Landscape Architecture from SUNY–ESF/Syracuse University, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and is an active local advocate for community spaces and organizations.
