In 7th grade math,
students cover topics which will give them the basics to be
prepared for high school math. These include:
Pre-Algebra: Solving equations, interpreting and
making graphs, patterns
Fractions: Add, subtract, multiply, and
divide using fractions and mixed numbers
Percents: Calculating tax, tip,
discount and finding the percent of two numbers
Geometry: Angles, geometric shapes,
similarity, area, volume, surface area
Proportions: Ratios and proportional
reasoning
Integers: Add, subtract, multiply, and
divide using positive and negative numbers
Midnight
Rider students have the opportunity to become “Math student of
the week” starting towards the end of September. Each week a
student is chosen based on the following criteria.
1.
Participation
in class
2.
No missing assignments
3.
RESPECT shown to teacher and other students
4.
Grades on tests and quizzes reflective of their capabilities
Grades will be updated online weekly. I encourage you to
check your student’s grade frequently!
